Major Salman M. Aljawder from the Kingdom of Bahrain has hailed Dubai for being a pioneer of smart and international policing initiatives. Aljawader, who is part of Dubai Police’s Police Innovation and Leadership (PIL) Diploma, has described his participation in the programme as a transformative experience that is sharpening his leadership skills and introducing him to cutting-edge tools shaping the future of law enforcement.
Aljawder further expressed his sincere gratitude to His Excellency Lieutenant-General Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior of the Kingdom of Bahrain, for granting him the opportunity to participate in such a prestigious programme. “As an officer leading teams in the Protocol and VIP Protection Directorate, I always seek innovative methods to enhance operational efficiency and team performance. The PIL Diploma delivers a future-focused curriculum that perfectly aligns with my vision of modern security leadership.”
Decision-Making Through Innovation
Reflecting on his most impactful experience, Aljawder highlighted the interactive workshops as a key strength of the programme.
“Engaging with police leaders from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds gave me invaluable insights into leadership, innovation, and operational excellence. The sessions on AI-supported policing and advanced security technologies reshaped how I view decision-making and tech integration in law enforcement. These workshops have deepened my understanding of innovation as a catalyst for improving police operations.”
A Perfect Blend of Theory and Practice
Commenting on the programme’s structure, Aljawder commended its balanced design: “It combines theoretical knowledge with practical exposure in a seamless and well-organised way. The expert-led sessions, field visits, and logistical coordination reflect Dubai Police’s outstanding commitment to excellence. I’m truly grateful for the opportunity and the effort invested in creating this rich learning environment. The PIL Diploma sets a benchmark for global police training.”
Translating Learning into Local Impact
Aljawder is keen to share what he has learned with colleagues back home, particularly in integrating AI into police work, data-driven decision-making, and smart security systems.
“Predictive analysis and digital transformation are areas I see making a tangible impact in Bahrain. The programme’s focus on inter-agency cooperation and leadership strategy has been inspiring, and I plan to incorporate these best practices into our work.”
He was particularly impressed by Dubai Police’s Drone Box initiative, calling it a transformative step in proactive policing. “Using drones for real-time surveillance and rapid response significantly enhances situational awareness and shortens emergency response times. I believe implementing such a system in Bahrain would greatly benefit VIP protection and large-scale event security.”
Engagement and Inspiration
Aljawder also praised the programme’s networking opportunities, saying, “The chance to connect with experts from global police forces was one of the highlights. I’ve always been fascinated by historical leadership strategies and often draw inspiration from military leaders and tactical scenarios in films. The discussions and knowledge exchange helped bring those concepts into a modern policing context.”
He concluded by emphasising the diploma’s emphasis on innovation, collaboration, and future-readiness, stating that the experience has enriched his professional skill set and expanded his vision for security leadership in Bahrain.
